Hilarious and spectacular
A hilarious, spectacular stage version of Alfred Hitchcock´s classic film, which has long fascinated millions of cinema-goers. The stage version by Patrick Barlow, adapted by Jorge de Juan García and directed by Eduardo Bazo, features an excellent cast including the popular Gabino Diego, Beatriz Rico, Jorge de Juan and Diego Molero, who between them play at least 139 characters.
Los 39 escalones obtained the Laurence Olivier Award from the Society of London Theatre for Best Comedy, and two prestigious Tony awards. These are the most important theatre awards in the UK and in New York respectively, and they are decided by a ballot of audiences and experts in the performing arts. After several years, the play continues to run successfully in London at the Criterion Theatre Piccadilly and in New York on Broadway.
Filled with surprising twists, the production does not give audiences a moment´s respite in its heady blend of intrigue, action and humour.
